Le constructeur français Excess Catamarans lance une nouvelle version de son Excess 11, dotée d'un génois à recouvrement.
Une innovation bienvenue pour un catamaran qui parle beaucoup de ses performances. Avec cette nouvelle voile d'avant, l'Excess 11 bénéficie de 16,5% de surface de voile en plus par rapport à la précédente version sous foc. Un gain appréciable pour la vitesse, mais qui permettra aussi au catamaran français d'améliorer ses performances dans le petit temps. Avec cette amélioration, la surface de voile au près de la version Pulse Line atteint désormais 95,5m2 (contre 82m2 avec foc autovireur).

The Excess 11 follows in the footsteps of its big brother, the Excess 14, which already features this sail geometry.
Taking advantage of this opportunity, the engineers have also optimized the setting capabilities (twisting) to offer sailors perfect control, while maintaining simple, intuitive maneuvers aimed at the helmsman.
This innovation applies to both the standard rig and the Pulse-Line version, which features a longer mast.
This new version is in line with the constant desire to improve this range of high-performance catamarans.
Owned by Groupe Beneteau, Excess was launched in September 2019. It now offers a range of boats from 11 meters to 15 meters, all designed by architects VPLP Design and Groupe Beneteau's French shipyards. In its five years of existence, Excess has already sold over 400 catamarans, a record in the multihull world. With this new version, the Excess 11 will undoubtedly catch up with competitors who already have an overlapping genoa.
This new version of the Excess 11 will be one of the stars of the autumn boat shows, starting with the Cannes Yachting Festival (September 10 to 15), followed by the Genoa Boat show (September 19 to 24), the Grand Pavois de La Rochelle (October 1 to 6), and the Annapolis Sailboat show (October 10 to 14).
